Join Big Blue Door this Saturday, April 16th for an early evening under the awning of Cardinal Point Winery! Our outdoor summer shows were so much fun last year that we couldn’t resist starting early this year with Spring Stories Saturday. Our first show will feature true stories inspired by the theme of ‘Love and Marriage’!
We have a mix of newcomers, returnees from last year’s shows, and veterans from our story shows of the past. Cardinal Point offers a variety of delicious beverages and audience members are welcome to bring their own food as well! We also suggest you bring warm clothing since Aprils in Virginia can get a chill after dark.
We kindly request a $5-$20 donation, but we’ll let you in for free if you’re broke!
Check out the lineup!

First-time storyteller Susan Klees was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. Her career in healthcare communications took her to Washington, DC, London and New York before she moved to Charlottesville nearly 14 years ago to focus on family life. Susan and her husband Ed have two daughters – one in college and one about to be. The family is constantly assessing who is the funniest, and Susan never wins.d

Another first-timer, Laura Longhine, is a mother and editor who is also at work on a book about the radical origins of kindergarten and its transformation in the accountability era. She lives in Charlottesville with her husband and two daughters, but will always be a New Yorker at heart.

Browning Porter is a veteran of Big Blue Door story shows past and present. He most recently performed in our April 1st show.

Heidi Shaner was a regular in last summer’s Cardinal Point shows. She is a native Charlottesvillian and now lives at lake Monticello as a recent empty nester. She is a group exercise instructor, in-home counselor, and life coach.

Rosemarie Harper has performed with Big Blue Door since our earliest days as a storyteller, improviser, and recruiter!
