Check out the lineup of Big Blue Door’s resident improv team, Hotdog Water, part of the winter 2015 Harold Run!
Hotdog Water is:
Shawn B. Hirabayashi. Shawn arrived in Charlottesville in August 2011, shortly before the earthquake. He thought it was a large truck going by before he realized, “That’s not a large truck.” He knew it wasn’t a large truck because he’d been in an earthquake in Oakland in 1988. In that one the earth rolled. It made him feel very small.
Maya Hislop. Maya is from Brooklyn, NY. She likes to watch every single camera comedy series she can find and eat pizza. Her real-life career ambition is to be a professor of American and African-American Literature, but she loves to dream about a life in comedy.
Deborah Prum. Debby is a writer and banjo player by way of Dartmouth. Her essays have appeared in the Washington Post and have aired on NPR-member stations. Her shorter fiction and non-fiction have been published all over the place. You can read her stuff here. You can buy her books right now by going here! Her banjo playing, however, is going nowhere.
Tu-An Truong. Tu-An is currently at UVa studying drama and computer science. He plans on pursuing both upon graduation.
Brian Weisbrod. Brian is an improviser best known for his role as Professional Finance/Accounting Robot. His credits include Accounting Analyst at a now defunct electronics retailer formerly based in Richmond, Senior Accountant and Finance Manager at a local University basketball arena, and most recently Assistant Controller at a local software company. He listens regularly to comedy podcasts especially ones on the Earwolf network. In 2015 you can catch him playing volleyball or soccer in his spare time, performing stand up comedy at open mic nights, or most importantly performing all around town with his improv groups The Lady Pills and Hot Dog Water.
