Tater T’Otter & the Butter Buds one of our two excellent teams performing this fall with the Sweet Succulents!
Check them out:

Adrienne Wood is a professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Virginia, where she studies social behavior. She lives with her husband, two hounds, a cat, and a new baby. She performed with Big Blue Door in the summer and fall of 2023.

Rachel Showalter. Rachel has been studying and performing improv for 20 years, which is weird since she was just 25 last year. She’s been on teams in DC, Chicago, and Charlottesville, and has been performing and coaching with Big Blue Door since 2017.

Caitlin Levine. Caitlin is a social worker by day and works hard to give her two cats a good life. She is a member of the Virginia Consort vocal ensemble (with a concert on May 11, 2024!). She’s been performing with Big Blue Door since the spring of 2024.

Christopher ‘Otter’ Moutenot. Otter is a carnivorous aquatic mammal who was raised in 1980s/90s suburban captivity on a diet focused upon the Kids in the Hall, Kurt Vonnegut, and Mr. Bungle. He made lots of joyfully collaborative improvisational films and music in his youth, and then life got really serious and heavy like allofasudden. Improv is a return to future roots, an alchemy of depth and light, a circle coming to close, a snake eating its own ass. Ya know? He’s been performing with Big Blue Door since before the pandemic.

Deborah Arenstein. Deb has performed with Big Blue Door for almost 10 years, and credits improv with keeping her adult (and fabulous) children alive. Her offstage life also includes her nonprofit consulting group, Board Whisperers, Irishdoodle Libby, maj jongg, gardening, and reading as much as possible.

Robin Karr. Robin is a Registered Nurse and long-time resident of Cville who relocated to the delightful town of Staunton with her plump cat, Olive. Outside of sedating patients, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, watching movies, and listening to indie music. You might also catch her (in between injuries), roller skating on the very tennis court you plan to use! She has performed with Big Blue Door since the spring of 2024.

Coach Marjory Ruderman. Marjory Ruderman is a writer who has performed with many Big Blue Door improv groups. She’s also taught classes and run Big Blue Door workshops and is currently one of our Middle School Improv instructors. Marjory was interviewed as part of WHTJ’s Charlottesville Inside Out program on Big Blue Door.
