Don’t miss Big Blue Door’s true stories show, Stories Confidential: Summertime this Thursday at Belmont Arts Collaborative for true tales of summer! Check out the lineup below!
Melissa Wender loves improv and storytelling with Big Blue Door and playing with the Hamner Improv Troupe. She also gets excited about bicycles, contact improvisational dance, and growing tatsoi. She has lived in Virginia since 1997 (Nelson County), and Charlottesville since 2012. Melissa led Big Blue Door’s Stories Confidential project last year and is Project Manager of 2017’s TrueVille project.
Charlie Gilliam likes late-night impulse buying. He’s been preparing pretty rigorously for this. He is also trying desperately to make human connections. He occasionally performs improv with Bent Theatre.
Kelsey Keverline is a Biology and Public Policy double major at the University of Virginia who one day hopes to become a physician. When not performing with Big Blue Door, you can find her working in the Emergency Department, teaching yoga, or obsessively listening to NPR.
Jason Megill is handy with a screwdriver or a spreadsheet. He likes swimming, swing dancing and is a solid poker player. He tells a story most people would consider too embarrassing to discuss. If he leaves a dramatic pause, he has either forgotten the story or has stage fright.
Rosemarie Harper loves improv, sketch writing and telling true stories. She lives in Afton with her three kids and dreams of one day never having to work again.
Jeanne Lynch is a CPA took a story telling class to improve her pitch to banks in obtaining client financing. Raising four children with her husband on a farm in Buckingham, she found she had so many other true stories to tell. (Jeanne refuses to give us a photo, but here’s a picture of Hollywood actress, Jane Lynch)
B.K. Marcus is a homeschooling dad, an essayist, and the leader of Big Blue Door’s summer story group.
And why not join us for our upcoming Telling True Stories course, so you’ll be ready for future storytelling shows!
