Wahoowa everyone! Big Blue Door’s final Improv I of 2016 is our special UVa-friendly edition. Students and faculty of The University can pay a special discount rate and take the free trolley directly to our Improv I course, one block from the downtown mall. It’s easy, it’s fun, and that’s before you even get to class!
It’s Big Blue Door’s last fascinating and fabulous introduction to longform improv comedy of 2016! Learn how to build an original show of life-filled characters and spontaneous, hilarious scenes. In eight weeks of exercises, games, and a final class performance you’ll learn how to play fearlessly with other smart people in focused abandon; how to draw inspiration from almost anything; and how to find what’s funny and compelling in real human emotions, quirks, and experiences! Longform improv comedy isn’t just a class, it’s a simple, satisfying, and confidence-building system for learning to listen and respond with your own wit and humor. Whether you’re interested in performance, curious about how comedy works, or just looking for some fun each week, this is might be one of the most rewarding classes you’ll ever take. You’re friends might be amazed by how funny you are in the class show!
If you’re a UVa student or teacher you can take the free trolley from the grounds to the downtown mall. The class sessions meet in McGuffey Art Center in sight of the trolley stop only a block from the mall, so it’s a safe and easy trip. If you sign up we’ll give you all the info you need.
