Thanks everyone for a great show last night at Studio Ix!
Stories Confidential is Big Blue Door’s true stories semi-formal storytelling collective. Veterans of our storytelling Jams and Slams have been meeting weekly through December and January to swap true tales. Last night they shared some of their favorites!
Event organizer and Big Blue Door improv veteran Melissa Wender led off with her tale of walking across fire (literally)!
Then Ken Jackson shared his account of being in Saudi Arabia when rebels seized parts of Mecca, leading to the beginnings of Al-Qaeda and later ISIS.
Jeanne Lynch revealed her experiences last summer at Crazy Camp and how it changed her!
Jason Megill told us of his life of cooking from Boy Scouts and tinfoil through the miracle of frozen vegetables!
Bit Pressley described how his uncomfortable time in a children’s hospital for ‘crippled children’ was the beginning of his social comfort!
Finally T.A. Somers shared her attempts to run motherhood like the army and her children’s reactions.
Thanks to Studio Ix for having us! We hope the Stories Collective will have another show planned soon! Meanwhile we’ll have some photos up as soon as possible.
Meanwhile Big Blue Door’s next show is First Friday Improv featuring the Helix and Sleepover. That’s Friday, Feb 5th 730pm in Studio 20 of McGuffey Art Center. For information on all our shows, groups, and classes ‘Follow’ us by clicking the button on our homepage!
