August at Big Blue Door is like an inviting beach stretched between the tides of our third and fourth season! Or maybe August is the beach and the ocean is the third season and inland is our fourth season? Or maybe August is a beach at nighttime after the tourists of the third season are gone it’s just the locals sitting around the bonfire before the tourists of the fourth season arrive tomorrow morning!
In any case we have four shows in four different venues plus our fall classes will be unveiled!
Sometime this summer (depending on how you figure it) Big Blue Door will be having it’s third anniversary. In that time we’ve taught dozens of classes and produced more than sixty shows. Thank you all for being part of that! Later in the month we’ll have a bit of history about all of that but right now let’s have a look at August!
BIG BLUE DOOR: FINAL SUMMER HAROLD
The last show of Big Blue Door’s summer Harold Run is the first official show as renting members of Studio 20 at McGuffey Art Center. Big Blue Door summer improv groups Plan A and Mogli Mogli de Brogli join together to perform the Harold and a Montage one last time.

Big Blue Door veterans Brian Weisbrod (The Lady Pills, Mogli Mogli de Brogli) and Nauder Namaky (The Lady Pills, Plan A) and their guests turn everyone’s miserable love lives into great improv comedy.

Also don’t forget that August is the time to sign up for September improv classes and workshops. Big Blue Door offers Charlottesville’s only training in longform improv and we’re open to improvisers of all experience levels!
