Tune in tomorrow, 2pm-4pm to WTJU’s Folk Marathon! 91.1fm or wtju.net. I’ll be hosting a show featuring blues and traditional American music and how the music evolved in and through Tin Pan Alley, Vaudeville, the early recording industry, and probably the greatest social upheaval in American history that few people have ever thought about. Listen to some great tunes by John Hurt, Skip James, Pink Anderson, and many more. And consider making a donation to support WTJU!
Big Blue Door is very proud of all we’ve accomplished in our short 2.5 years of existence but we couldn’t have done any of it without friends. Folks like you, of course, coming to shows and taking classes, but we’ve also been blessed by the support, encouragement, and collaboration of more established Charlottesville institutions, and none more so that WTJU. WTJU doesn’t just bring amazing music to our community (on the radio dial and live), but they also are a locus for sharing information, energy, and experience.
Big Blue Door has never done major fundraising, but if you like what we do, and would like to donate money to support it, you could help us by helping WTJU. Listen in tomorrow and consider making a donation!
