October Wrap

oct wrap Thanks to everyone for making October at Big Blue Door more frighteningly great month than a bag of Halloween candy!
smallprov

We finished our Smallprov series with Monday night shows at McGuffey Art Center in early October and our big Big Blue Door Unhinged show at BON on Oct 17th. It was so much fun we’ll be making Unhinged a regular monthly show at BON! Congrats to Brian , Larry, Jennifer, Debby, Maya, Nik, Jude, and Nauder for a great run!

We returned to C’ville Coffee for our October Big Blue Door Jam hosted by Graelyn Brashear and Brian Weisbrod and featuring true stories inspired by the theme of ‘Shadows and Light.’ First-timers Nancy Parks, Raennah Lorne, and Lewis Reining joined veterans Tom Clay, Emily Kilroy, and Browning Porter to explore life, death, mystery, and identity. Emily brought home the Big Blue Door Jam jam.

We started a new Improv 1 course in the ‘lower halls’ of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church on Rugby. Up to the final day we weren’t sure we’d have enough students but thanks to people like you getting the word out, we ended up with a 9-student class! That means we’ve had more than 50 students sign up for our classes and workshops since mid-summer! (Speaking of which, we have one more workshop this year, an introduction to Sketch Writing sponsored by Live Arts. So pass the word along!)
