may We’re so excited by May here at Big Blue Door that we can’t help but wrap ribbons around things! This month we have three shows and we start rehearsals for a fourth show that will be in June.

Our first show will be Thursday, May 16th at 8 pm. Moto Saloon. It’s our May edition of our monthly Big Blue Door Jam, featuring true stories inspired by the theme of ‘Rivals.’ Only $5. This Jam will be produced by Jude Silveira and mc’d by Tom Clay. We have a great line-up of storytellers that we’ll announce next week.

The second show will be Tuesday, May 21 at 7:30 pm. Top floor studio of Live Arts. This is the Improv Showcase for the two fabulous improv classes currently running at Live Arts. It’s the funniest show in town and it’s free!

Then Wednesday, May 29 at 8 pm in a place TBA, we have our Telling True Stories class show. Come listen to some great stories by the graduates of TTS class that’s in session now. The class show is like a shorter, gentler complement to our Big Blue Door Jams and it’s free.

That means you can see three shows this month for a grand total of $5.

Whats’ the fourth show that we’ll be starting to rehearse? Our first ever show of original comedy sketches called appropriately enough, The Sketch Show. The finished production will be at The Bridge on June 27 & 28. Monday nights between now and then we’ll be meeting with a team of writers and performers, using improv and sketch techniques to create the entire show from scratch. To perform or write for The Sketch Show all the participants have completed either the Improv Character & Scene class at Live Arts or the Sketch Writing Workshop at Big Blue Door. If you’ve completed either class, would like to join, but haven’t signed up yet, email us at
