Tune into WTJU this afternoon, Jan 3, from 4 till 5. That’s 91.1 on your FM dial. I’ll be appearing on Folk and Beyond hosted by Peter Jones to play a few songs and talk about the following Big Blue Door projects and events:
Telling True Stories class. This six-session course runs Tuesdays 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm, starting January 8th. The classes are at Park School downtown near the mall. Class show on Wed. Feb 20th at Random Row Books. To register email your name and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Big Blue Door Jam. The third Thursday of every month local storytellers tell true stories inspired by changing monthly themes. January’s lineup will include Emily Bolecek, Kasey Soska, Eric Cross, Susan Perry, and Jay Perry telling true stories inspired by the theme of ‘Journeys’. Thursday, January 17th at Moto Saloon. 8 pm. $5.
Improv Classes. Live Arts is sponsoring a Level 1 improv, a Level 2 improv, and an improv class for teens. All the classes start in January. Summaries here. Go to livearts.org to register for the classes online.
ALSO, would you like to tell a story at a future Big Blue Door Jam? We’re currently looking for stories inspired by the theme of ‘books’ for our March 21st show, which will be part of the Festival of the Book. Sign up by emailing your name, phone number, 2-3 sentence summary of your story, and 2-3 sentence bio to email@example.com. If you have a high-resolution photograph that would be great too.
WTJU usually has live streaming but it isn’t available today. If you can’t listen to an actual radio live today the program will be recorded and can be listened to by Friday or Saturday at wtju.net/vault
