December is almost over; how the year has flown by! Jen and I want to thank everyone for the support and enthusiasm not just for December but for the first half-year of Big Blue Door’s existence.
Our December Jam was our first of what we hope will be many at Black Market Moto Saloon. The stories were inspired by the theme of ‘Familes.’ It was our largest house yet, with more than seventy audience members, storytellers, and crew! The venue was great, the stories were great, and we can’t wait to return for January. Our next Big Blue Door Jam will be on January 17th, also at Moto Saloon, with stories inspired by the theme of ‘journeys.’
We finished another Telling True Stories class at the Park School and presented a class showcase at Random Row Books, another wonderful new venue that we hope to return to as soon as we can.It was an outstanding class with tremendous stories. Several graduates will be in the January Big Blue Door Jam line-up. The next Telling True Stories class starts Tuesday, January 8th at 7:30. Email bigbluedoor.stories@gmail.com to register or for more info.
Speaking of classes, Live Arts is sponsoring a whole slew of improv classes starting in January. There is another Improv Character & Scene, our Level 1 class, plus our first Level 2, Cuts, Tags & Callbacks, and our first Improv for Teens.
We also spent a lot of December working on our organizational plans, so we have a lot to announce in the new year!
Thanks to Moto Saloon, The Bridge, Live Arts, Park School, Daily Progress, C-ville, Cville Niche, WTJU, WNRN, our Door Jam storytellers, judges & crew, our students, audience members, families, babysitters, and you for reading this!
See you all next year!
