NEW TELLING TRUE STORIES CLASS STARTS SUNDAY, NOV 4 @ PARK SCHOOL
Please join us for our last Telling True Stories class before the New Year, this one beginning Sunday, Nov 4 at 4:30 pm at the Park School on Market Street downtown. The Park School is the beautiful two-story red brick building with a front porch at 107 Market Street next to the Monsoon Siam cafe (and near Fellinis and McGuffey Art Center.).
Turn the personal experiences of your life into funny, moving, honest performances! Telling True Stories is a course of 6 sessions plus a class show designed to help you learn to find and tell your stories. The first four sessions use exercises, homework, and discussion to create material for about eight finished stories. Then over the last two sessions you’ll choose one story to revise, rehearse, and perform in front of a live audience at the class show. The course also covers memorization techniques, using a microphone, and dealing with privacy issues. You can even use the story material for radio pieces, written essays, blog postings, or the beginnings of a memoir. You might just find that learning to tell your story is one of the most rewarding things you ever do!
Classes run on Sundays 4:30-7 pm: 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 12/2, 12/9, 12/16 with the class show on Wednesday, Dec 19th. Maximum class size is 8. $125.
